New Board Members Bring Wealth of Experience with Software-as-a-Service and Internet-based Businesses
Research Triangle Park, NC – September 22, 2015
Zift Solutions, the leading provider of channel marketing automation solutions, today announced that it has appointed two new members to its Board of Directors. Matthew Safaii, founder and managing partner of Arrowroot Capital, and Hunter Witherington, partner with SSM Partners, bring a wealth of experience to Zift.
“Both Matthew and Hunter have extraordinary insight and expertise, particularly with software-as-a-service and Internet-based firms, and we are delighted that they are joining the Zift Solutions’ Board of Directors,” said Ken Romley, CEO of Zift Solutions.
An established entrepreneur as well as founder and managing partner at Arrowroot Capital, Matthew Safaii co-founded the digital media company Quewey and sits on the board of MednetSoutions, EiQ Networks and 4tell Solutions. Prior to founding Arrowroot, Safaii led the acquisitions team at Actua Corp. and served on the board of MSDSonline and InvestorForce. He holds an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and BA in Finance and Marketing from Boston College.
“I am honored to join the Zift Solutions board and work with this exceptional team,” said Safaii. “Zift is leading the wave of channel marketing automation solution providers and I look forward to contributing to the future direction and growth of this channel industry leader.”
Hunter Witherington is a Partner of SSM Partners, a growth equity firm that focuses on making investments in software & technology, Internet & consumer, and healthcare companies. Hunter currently serves as a board member for Complete Holdings Group, DialogTech, and OpinionLab, and serves, or has served, as a board observer for All Web Leads, Bulldog Solutions, Datacert, FrontStream Payments and New Era Portfolio. Prior to joining SSM in 2004, Hunter spent several years in investment banking with Stephens, Inc. working on mergers and acquisitions, private placements, and public offerings for middle-market companies across numerous industries. Hunter received a bachelor’s degree in economics from Vanderbilt University.
“Zift Solutions has established itself as an essential resource for companies selling through B2B channels,” said Witherington. “I’m excited about the opportunity to join Zift’s board and work with the team to deliver on Zift’s compelling vision.”
Safaii and Witherington were instrumental in helping Zift secure just over $14 million in Series B financing to support the acquisition of SharedVue and foster continued growth. The recent funding round was led by Arrowroot Capital and SSM Partners in addition to several previous investors.
Safaii and Witherington join current Zift Board members, Ken Romley, CEO of Zift Solutions, Jason Caplain, general partner of Southern Capitol Ventures, Joe Velk, manager of Contender Capital, LLC, and Ed Olkkola, managing director of Teakwood Capital.
